According to Pereira, his upcoming fight against Israel Adesanya on Saturday is likely to be their final encounter in the ring.
The main event of UFC 287 will witness the long-awaited MMA rematch between Pereira and Israel Adesanya. Their last encounter in November at UFC 261 saw Pereira snatch victory from “Stylebender” with a fifth-round TKO, earning him the UFC middleweight championship title. Notably, Pereira has already defeated Adesanya twice before in kickboxing, once by KO and once by decision.
While “Stylebender” has suggested that this could be his final opportunity to face Pereira in the upcoming MMA rematch, Pereira has gone a step further and boldly stated that their bout on Saturday will mark the conclusive end of their rivalry.
At UFC 287 media day Pereira said:
“I believe that me beating him this Saturday, I will never face him again”
As Pereira gears up for his highly anticipated clash with Adesanya at UFC 287, he exudes immense confidence in his ability to emerge victorious once again. With his impressive knockout power Alex Pereira knows he can finish Adesanya .
He further added:
“I do know how to beat him,” Pereira said. “I know how he fights, I know how he works, so I do know how to beat him.”
If Pereira manages to secure another victory over Adesanya at UFC 287, he will successfully defend his title for the first time. However, given his size advantage, it remains to be seen how much longer he will stay in the middleweight division.
Nevertheless, the Brazilian is determined to clinch his fourth win over “Stylebender” and put their rivalry to rest once and for all, with his hand raised in victory and the title of “And Still” champion.
Pereira heads into the highly anticipated main event of UFC 287 with an unblemished UFC record of 4 wins and no losses. In his previous bouts, the Brazilian fighter showcased his knockout prowess by finishing Sean Strickland and Andreas Michailidis in impressive fashion. Pereira also secured a victory over Bruno Silva via a decision win, indicating his ability to go the distance and win on the judges’ scorecards
what do you think that this is the last time both Pereira and Adesanya fight in UFC 287 ?
