Jake Paul, known for his outspoken nature and successful boxing career, always has various options in the world of fighting. However, following his upcoming bout with Nate Diaz on August 5, there is one matchup that has caught his attention.
The 26-year-old social media influencer turned boxer has long desired to face off against UFC superstar Conor McGregor. Paul firmly believes that the perfect time to arrange this fight would be right after defeating Diaz, who has had two memorable clashes with McGregor resulting in a 1-1 record.
Although he previously changed his stance, opting to fight Diaz first, Jake Paul is determined to accomplish what McGregor couldn’t by knocking out the beloved Diaz. It’s worth noting that while Diaz has trained alongside renowned boxer Andre Ward, this will be his first-ever boxing match.
In his recent interview with TALKSPORT Jake Paul stated :
“When I knock out Nate Diaz, I think that Conor McGregor’s going to see me, want a payday, and come and get knocked out. We can fight in the PFL smart cage, whatever it is. I told everybody I would fight Conor in any form of fight, because, in my opinion, he is that shot. I’ll do MMA, I’m not afraid.”
He continued, “I’ve wanted to do that my whole career, [I have] a wrestling background. All I’d have to learn is some jiu-jitsu and some kicks, which seems pretty easy to me.”
Jake Paul MMA debut is on the making
With this new contract, Jake Paul is eager to explore the possibility of stepping into the cage and taking on Conor McGregor in an MMA fight. The PFL agreement provides him with the freedom to pursue crossover fights in both boxing and MMA. While he has not set a specific deadline for his debut in the cage, fans are eagerly awaiting the day when Jake Paul enters the world of mixed martial arts.
